Welcome to the Hornell-Corning Steuben County
Empire Zone
The Hornell-Corning-Steuben County Empire Zone as designated in June, 2001
to stimulate job creation and new investment within identified areas
within the City of Hornell and the City of Corning. The Zone Program
provides a variety of New York State tax credits and incentives to
qualifying businesses located within the Zone.
Through a boundary amendment process and subject to available acreage, the
Zone can be extended to qualifying businesses and associated sites
throughout Steuben County. Since original designation, the Zone has been
extended to include qualifying businesses within
the Towns of Avoca,
Erwin, Urbanna, and the Villages of Bath and Painted Post. Contact
the Zone Coordinator for additional information regarding boundary
amendments.
The City of Hornell is the governing municipality for the Zone, and the
Zone has a seven member Board of Directors. The City of Hornell Industrial
Development Agency administers the Zone and provides staff and technical
assistance. |
